Ama Jestun Pema honoured at GR8! Women Awards ceremony

HYDERABAD: Women achievers, who had excelled in their respective fields despite odds, were befittingly honoured at the 13th GR8! Women Awards held in the city on Sunday. The coveted “Golden Scroll of Honour” award was presented to Ama Pema Jetsun, Tibetan activist and sister of the 14th Dalai Lama.

Addressing the audience, Mrs. Jetsun Pema dedicated the award to all those who had been fighting for the Tibetan cause.

A total of 11 women achievers were felicitated at the event among which many were from South India and Hyderabad too. The ‘Excellence in Versatility’ award went to actor Sridevi while Saina Nehwal bagged the award in the field of sports.

Actor Tamannah was feted for her contribution to South Cinema and popular singer P. Susheela was felicitated in the category of Music.

The yearly awards are presented as a charitable Initiative by ‘BETI’ Foundation.
