Contact is taking a break after 25 years of bringing you news of Tibet and Tibetan issues. When and how Contact will re-emerge and evolve will be determined by those who become involved.
The family of Kalsang Wangdu, the monk who self-immolated on February 29, is being pressured by the authorities to say that Wangdu died in a house fire. Radio Free Asia reports that police are blocking the family from visitors, including relatives and “Making every effort to prevent news of the incident from reaching outside contacts”.
