An earthquake of 6.3 magnitude has hit southwestern China killing hundreds of people in the Yunnan province. Xinhua, the state media reported a death toll of 398 people. Nearly 80,000 houses collapsed and 124,000 others were seriously damaged, the report said. Premier Li Keqiang visited the town urging a quick rescue for those missing and trapped by debris.
