Itanagar: The 81st birth anniversary of the Dalai Lama was celebrated at Thubchog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gompa) at Bomdila in West Kameng district on Wednesday.

DC Sonal Swaroop said adoption of the thoughts and ideas of the leader in one’s life would be the fitting tribute to the great humanitarian leader.

MLA Japu Deru described Dalai Lamai as a world-class statesman and a compassionate guru. He urged the people to emulate the spiritual leader and cleanse their thoughts and actions.

Earlier, Guru Tulku Rinpoche, Gen Lopon of the Gontse Gaden Rabgyeling Monastery (Upper Gompa), Gen Tsering Dondup, Lopon, of the Thubchog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gompa) and Tibetan welfare officer Tenzin Kunphen spoke at length about the life of Tenzin Gyatso the 14th Dalai Lama.
