Contact is taking a holiday!

Contact is taking a break after 25 years of bringing you news of Tibet and Tibetan issues. We are celebrating our 25 years by bringing you the story of Contact and the people who have made it happen, and our archive is still there for you to access at any time, and below you can read the story of Contact, how it came into being and the wonderful reflections of the people who have made it happen over the years.

When and how Contact will re-emerge and evolve will be determined by those who become involved.

Our Proofreader’s Voice

By Clifford, proofreader  /  January 9, 2023;

I always thought of myself as a reader, not a writer, so when Jenny asked me if I would help to proofread the draft copies of Contact I was very happy to say yes. I have ended up proofreading (almost every month or so) on trains and on planes but mostly at my kitchen table responding to Samten’s (usually last minute) requests! This always involves a wrestling match with spelling, grammar and punctuation, the latter featuring either too much or too little! However, in the process I have learnt so much about Tibet and Tibetans and am very grateful to Contact for providing me with this insight. Congratulations to you all for achieving your 25th birthday milestone and I wish you all the best for the next incarnation of Contact.
