We are celebrating our 25 years by bringing you the story of Contact and the people who have made it happen, and our archive is still there for you to access at any time, and below you can read the story of Contact, how it came into being and the wonderful reflections of the people who have made it happen over the years.

When and how Contact will re-emerge and evolve will be determined by those who become involved.

Prisoners Database Launched

December 12, 2021;

The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD) has launched a new online database with details of 5,518 Tibetan political prisoners. The information dates from 1990; 3,067 prisoners have been released, 1,809 remain in detention, says TCHRD. This is a joint initiative with HURIDOCS, the Human Rights Information and Documentation Systems based in Geneva and was launched to coincide with Human Rights Day.
